An analysis on Survial Difficulties in the Visual Culture Era

Abstract

Visual culture has become a reality in current culture field and transmission field. The transmission of visual culture has become a great challenge to traditional transmission. “Visual veer”and “image veer”caused by visual culture are changing people’s living circumstances : language based rational thinking gives place to vision based perceptual thinking. Image takes place of language and becomes the thinking method. This changes people’s angel of view in observing the society, and language is banished during this change. Culture imitation and culture copy supported by media technology engenders “super-reality ”. Image and reality are seperated . The “super-reality”created by visual image re-constructs reality. It is more real than reality. Reality is banished under the “super-reality”circumstances. Human body losts its existent meaning besieged by media and visual image. Space changes its intrinsic spacial difference because of the “extension of image”, which changes the field human body has been relied on. Thus human body is banished. Visual culture transmission era creates an environment in which human beings are oppressed by vision.
